Ryan White is a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB) with more than 30 years of hands-on experience in the marine industry and over 25 years as the founder and owner of Marine Concepts Yacht Sales. A lifelong member of both the Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA) and the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA), Ryan has built a career defined by integrity, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to his clients. His experience spans the full breadth of the market — from domestic transactions across the United States to international yacht sales in waters around the world — making him one of the most versatile and well-connected brokers in the industry.

Marine Concepts Yacht Sales operates from a premier boutique marina on the Lynnhaven River in Virginia Beach, VA, with an additional office in Montauk, NY, and serves buyers and sellers across the United States and internationally. Ryan’s extensive experience in both domestic and international yacht sales means that no matter where you are in the world — or where your next boat is — Marine Concepts has the reach, the relationships, and the expertise to get the deal done right. Ryan’s professional credentials are among the most respected in the industry. As one of Virginia’s only long-standing CPYBs — a designation earned through YBAA that holds brokers to the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and continuing education — he was among the first brokerage principals in the country to achieve CPYB-endorsed firm status. His long-standing memberships in both YBAA and IYBA reflect a deep and enduring investment in the professionalism of the industry as a whole. Elected to the YBAA Board of Directors in 2024 and currently serving as Treasurer, Ryan works alongside fellow industry leaders to shape the future of yacht brokerage, advocate for higher standards, and support the development of the next generation of marine professionals.

Ryan’s path to becoming one of the region’s most trusted yacht brokers began where it always does — on the water. A native of the Carolinas and Virginia, he has spent his entire life on the fresh and salt waters of both states. He grew up on Lake Norman, NC, where his family put down roots before the lake even existed, fishing, boating, and developing a love of the water that never left him. That same passion carried through to his years living on the waters of Virginia Beach and the Lafayette River, and it is the thread that connects every chapter of his career.

By the age of 15, Ryan was already working at a marina and boat dealership on Lake Norman — detailing inventory, rigging and commissioning boats, assisting with deliveries, and learning the business from the ground up. After East Carolina University, he spent seven formative years based in Wilmington, NC as an independent manufacturers’ representative across the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast — establishing dealer territories, managing inventory cycles, and representing brands at major boat shows throughout the year. It was a career-defining education in the business of boating, and the foundation upon which Marine Concepts was built.

Twenty-five years after its first sale, Marine Concepts Yacht Sales remains guided by the same founding principle: put the client’s best interests first, always. Ryan and his team are known for their knowledge, their transparency, and a genuine dedication to earning not just a client’s business — but their trust for life. It is no coincidence that many of Ryan’s clients become lasting friends.

That same love of the water that has driven Ryan’s career has been passed on to his daughters, Lili and Ella, now 20 and 18 — the fourth generation of their family connected to the lakes and coastal waters of North Carolina and Virginia. From Lake Norman to the Chesapeake Bay, the water has always been where this family comes together, and Ryan is deeply grateful that tradition continues.
