Description
"COURAGEOUS" — 2022 Monterey 295 Sport Yacht
Courageous is a like-new example of the Monterey 295 Sport Yacht at her absolute finest — loaded with the right options, beautifully maintained, and ready to go to work for her next owner today. She presents flawlessly inside and out, and unlike most used boats on the market, she genuinely needs nothing. Not a detail, not a wash job, not a single item on a punch list. Turn-key doesn't begin to cover it.
Powered by the preferred and upgraded MerCruiser 8.2 MAG (380 HP) SeaCore package with closed fresh-water cooling and coupled to a Bravo Three counter-rotating sterndrive, Courageous delivers effortless cruising at 25 MPH with a top end in the low 30s. This big-block engine package is the right choice for serious saltwater use — lower cruising RPM, more torque, and built to last.
Her bottom and running gear have been done right: a full epoxy barrier coat with premium Micron CSC anti-fouling paint, fresh zincs throughout, the outdrive anti-fouled, and Prop Speed applied to the prop. The 100-hour service is scheduled for early June 2026 and will be complete before delivery — everything fully serviced and ready for the season.
Courageous turns heads with her stunning Carolina Blue hull color and is appointed with all the right options: AC/Heat, bow thruster, windlass anchor with polished SS anchor, full canvas enclosures, new cockpit cover (2025), RayMarine Axiom+RV(Real Vision 3D 9" MFD with integrated chartplotter, RayMarine Quantum 2 Doppler Radar (2025), Sirius XM (2025), AXIOM+ RV(real vision 3D) w/4-channel CHIRP sonar(Downvision, SideVision, high-frequency CHIRP, and RealVision 3D), VHF radio, and Fusion stereo with helm remote. The cockpit is set up for entertaining with a full wet bar and refrigerator, while the galley below is fully equipped for overnight use. Additional highlights include an electric head with holding tank, flip-up double-wide helm seat, bow sun pads, SeaDek decking throughout, extended swim platform with recessed telescoping SS boarding ladder, electrically actuated engine hatch, and a Magma SS grill with dedicated swim platform mount.
Safety gear is well beyond what you typically find on a pre-owned vessel: two sets of New England Ropes dock lines, Jim Buoy throw ring, new fire extinguishers (2025), new first aid kit (2025), boat hook, fenders, US flag, and more.
Courageous is available for immediate inspection and ready for your surveyor today. She is very easy to show at any time.
Trades considered. Offers encouraged!!

The 295SY with a single sterndrive can comfortably cruise at 25 knots and achieves a top speed of over 35 knots.
With the 8.2 MAG 380 and Bravo Three dual-prop drive on the 295SY, realistic expectations are:
- WOT top speed: ~38–42 mph (33–36 knots) depending on load and prop selection
- Cruise (3,200–3,500 RPM): ~24–27 mph
- Fuel burn at cruise: ~15–20 GPH
- Time to plane: approximately 4–5 seconds
The Bravo Three's counter-rotating dual props contribute significantly to hole shot, tracking, and fuel efficiency compared to a single-prop Bravo One setup.

Buyer & seller talking pointsFor buyers
- Big block means lower cruising RPM — less wear and longer engine life for same speed
- SeaCore closed cooling is critical for saltwater — standard on 8.2, add-on cost on 6.2L
- 65 amp alternator supports generator-free use of AC, electronics, and nav suite longer at anchor
- 8.2 MAG resale premium is real — buyers recognize the big block option immediately
- Bravo Three dual-prop eliminates torque steer and improves reverse control at the dock
- Upgrade warranty extension to 8 years available — significant peace of mind on a $30K+ engine
For sellers / brokers
- 8.2 MAG package commands $8K–$15K premium over base 6.2L when pricing comparables
- Lead with SeaCore — it's the differentiator saltwater buyers are willing to pay for
- Lower WOT RPM ceiling signals engine longevity to knowledgeable buyers — use that
- Active trim is present — pairs with Bravo Three for fuel-efficient cruise angle
- Pull Mercruiser service history; CAT/Seacore service interval is annual — compliance adds value
- Hours matter less on this block — 200 hrs on an 8.2 MAG is equivalent wear to ~140 on a 6.2L
